Janell’s practice-based research, conducted at Goldsmiths University of London and part-funded by Goldsmiths UoL, HSBC, Santander, and the Royal Academy of Music, explores novel approaches to the as-yet-unexamined intersection of music video aesthetics and instrumental western art music.

With over 12 years as a teacher and mentor, Janell has helped hundreds of young people of all backgrounds and abilities to achieve excellence in exams and performances, develop self-confidence and potential, and learn valuable skills.
