The Educator & Mentor
With over 12 years’ experience as a teacher, Janell has helped hundreds of young people of all backgrounds and abilities to achieve excellence in exams and performances, develop self-confidence and potential, and learn valuable skills.
After being trained as a Diana Award Youth Mentor, she gained experience in her private tuition practice and delivered numerous workshops in a variety of settings during her postgraduate fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music/Wigmore Hall.
Janell now conducts guest lecture-seminars on audiovisual aesthetics/literacy, delivers arts and humanities modules in underprivileged schools for The Brilliant Club, and coaches first-year undergraduates at Goldsmiths, University of London.
In June 2025, Janell will take up the role of Youth Career Lead at Making The Leap, a social mobility charity aiming to provide mentorship, training, and support for disadvantaged young people in London.
